Honda Amaze Facelift model launched with all new looks and features

Honda Amaze Facelift : The refreshed Honda Amaze compact sedan has been launched in India by the Japanese automaker and the changes are more than just skin deep.

Designed for young professionals and family customers, the new Amaze is infused with subtle styling changes, feature add-ons, and improved driving characteristics, while building on its reputation for reliability and comfort.

Considering compact sedans are under serious threat from SUVs, Honda has been wise enough to plug in premium into the Amaze without it costing the sky.

Seven years later, the Amaze facelift is re-born all over again as a practical yet stylish everyday set of wheels.

Outside: Subdued, Fashionable, Fresh

The new Honda Amaze facelift gets an updated front fascia with a more aggressive and modern appeal.

The grille looks less bulky with the new, sleeker chrome inserts and the fresh LED projector headlamps and DRLs go a long way in making it look sharper too. The bumper has also been restyled to better thrash air and road.

On the sides the design has been almost retained as is but new 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels along with a chrome strip on the doorline lend the car a more premium look.

At the back, it’s business as usual – only the tail lamp design gets an update with new C-shaped LED elements, along with a reworked bumper to end things off.

Overall, the new gen Amaze looks more mature and updated and yet it doesn’t lose that clean classic look that it was loved for in the first place.

Inside: Sportswear Treatments to Sophisticated Skin and Lean Definition

Get inside the new Amaze and the changes are evident right from the word go.

The company has added two-tone black and beige treatment on the inside with brushed silver accents to give a more premium feel in the cabin.

The cloth now feels more comfortable and durable and general quality levels have risen.

The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system gets the wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and the semi-digital instrument cluster on the Redi-GO facelift now has a new interface.

There’s also cruise control, rear AC vents, push-button start, and a multi-view rear camera in higher trims — all of which make life easier when using the car on a daily basis.

Rear seat real estate is still one of the Amaze’s strong suits with adequate leg and headroom for adult travellers.

The boot has not been altered and still has a 420-litre capacity, which is loads of room for weekend holidays.

Engine and Performance: Ginger on Rails

The Honda Amaze facelift soldiers on with the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol motor churns out 90 PS and 110 Nm of torque. It comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic.

It may not be swift, but the motor is smooth, jumpy, with a linear power delivery — just the way you would want for city commutes and a couple of highway runs.

The CVT in particular is a peppy, muscular, and very handy when navigating the stop-and-go traffic of The City.

Further with efficiency figures of approximately 18.6 km/l (manual) and 18.3 km/l (CVT), the Amaze will not only rate as one of the most fuel-efficient sedan in the segment, but the country too.

In its updated form, the Honda Amaze reminds that there’s a lot to like about it: it’s a good all-rounder as family-focussed compact sedans go.

The new look, better interior and good driving make it a solid car in a segment that is mostly dominated by hatches and small SUVs.
